Canucks Alumni + Fortis BC Bring Hockey Skills Camp to Oliver BC

By Nicole Favero

The Vancouver Canucks Alumni were busy in the community over the summer, connecting with fans and partners through a series of exciting community appearances this season. With the support of our valued partners at FortisBC, the Alumni participated in several community activities, including youth skills camps designed to bring hockey experiences directly into local communities.

One highlight took place in Oliver with the Osoyoos Indian Band, where Alumni members Doug Bodger and Neil Eisenhut, along with former Maple Leaf Cory Cross, joined local youth for a hockey-inspired skills camp filled with drills, activities, and plenty of fun.

Afterward, the kids had the chance to meet the Alumni for autographs, followed by a lunch that welcomed families and community members to share in the experience. A special thanks goes out to Nathan McGinnis, a local councillor and community member who regularly runs youth skills camps with the Osoyoos Indian Band and played a key role in supporting this event.

These Fortis events continue to provide meaningful touchpoints for fans of all ages, while also shining a spotlight on the importance of community support, teamwork and accessibility in sport values that FortisBC and the Canucks Alumni share.
