2025 CAN Pro-Am Tournament - A “Team Effort” in Every Sense
For a third consecutive year the 2025 CAN Pro-Am Hockey Tournament surpassed its $1 million fundraising goal in support of the Canucks Autism Network.
Presented by Dallas Watt Demo Ltd., the event stands as a cornerstone of support that draws together the NHL Alumni, corporate teams and community supporters. Needless to say, the Canucks Alumni plays a central role in the success of the tournament.
The Pro-Am weekend in October 2025 included the highly anticipated Draft Night at the Westin Bayshore Vancouver, another well-attended luncheon and the on-ice evening of competition at the North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex. Together, the Canucks Alumni, media, sponsors and supporters combined to make a meaningful impact in the lives of autistic individuals and their families.
The Constructors led the fundraising charge, raising $161,000 for the fifth year in a row, while Bob Shanks earned top individual honours for the sixth straight year, contributing an impressive $46,000. Their commitment underscores the power of teamwork and shared purpose in building a more inclusive community.
Long-time participant Brad May captured the spirit of the event when he said: “As NHL Alumni, we have a platform to give back. Autistic individuals need an outlet for whatever their passions are. CAN gives kids, youth and adults that opportunity. It’s beautiful.”
The 2025 CAN Pro-Am featured an outstanding roster of NHL Alumni, including Mark Recchi, Meghan Agosta, Chris Higgins, Kirk McLean, Mason Raymond, Greg Adams, Brad May, Cody Hodgson, Landon Ferraro, Glen Metropolit, Todd Simpson, Kyle Turris, and many more. Special guests such as Hall of Fame announcer Jim Hughson added to the luncheon’s excitement, highlighting the transformative impact of CAN’s work.
Proceeds from the tournament directly fund the Canucks Autism Network, which delivers inclusive sports and recreation programs for autistic individuals throughout British Columbia.
The Canucks Alumni looks forward to its continued involvement helping to build a legacy of inclusion, support, and opportunity that will benefit generations to come.
