2026 Vancouver Canucks Alumni Golf Classic
The Vancouver Canucks Alumni proudly hosted another successful Golf Classic on June 1, 2026, at the University Golf Club, welcoming a sold-out field of golfers, alumni, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters for one of our signature fundraising events of the year.
The day began early for our Vancouver Canucks Alumni, featuring an exclusive NHL Alumni Association meeting that celebrated the continued growth of our organization. Members received updates on the Association, learned more about the expanding health benefits available to alumni, and were thanked for the invaluable role they continue to play in supporting numerous charitable initiatives throughout British Columbia. The Canucks Alumni were also acknowledged for their ongoing representation of the Canucks legacy throughout the community.
As golfers arrived for breakfast, they were treated to a special welcome by Vancouver Canucks Co- President and Alumni Member Daniel Sedin, who helped officially kick off the Golf Classic. His presence highlighted the strong connection between the Alumni and all those who make this event possible.
The brunch program also included a heartfelt tribute honouring three cherished members of the Vancouver Canucks family, Jim Robson, John Garrett, and Ernie “Punch” McLean. Guests paused to reflect on their remarkable contributions to the organization, the game of hockey, and the countless lives they touched throughout their careers. It was a meaningful moment of remembrance that underscored the enduring bonds within the Canucks Alumni community.
Following brunch, golfers teed off for an 18-hole shotgun tournament alongside Vancouver Canucks Alumni. Throughout the course, participants enjoyed interactive sponsor activations, on-course contests, food and beverage stations, and countless opportunities to connect with former players, creating an unforgettable experience that extends far beyond the game itself.
The Golf Classic also served as an important fundraiser for two meaningful initiatives. Through this year’s Fund-a-Need campaign, guests generously supported Dreams Take Flight, helping create life-changing travel experiences for children facing medical, mental, physical, and social challenges. The campaign also supported the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Scholarship Program, providing financial assistance to deserving student-athletes as they pursue their post-secondary education.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, donors, and participants, the 2026 Golf Classic raised more than $130,000 in gross proceeds. These funds will help the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Foundation continue its mission of supporting youth, education, and charitable initiatives throughout British Columbia.
This incredible day would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors and community partners. We extend our sincere appreciation to our Presenting Sponsor, Sportsnet 650, for helping make this year’s Golf Classic such a memorable success.
We are also grateful to our Classic Sponsors, University Golf Club, Musqueam First Nation, Air-Ease, The Eatery, The General Public, Cigar Snob, and Anducci’s, for their outstanding support and commitment to the tournament. A special thank you also goes to our Alumni Premium Partners: Woola, Pepsi, TD, Toyota, Rogers, and Molson, whose continued partnership helps strengthen the work of the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Foundation throughout the year.
We also recognize our hole sponsors, prize donors, auction contributors, food and beverage partners, photographers, volunteers, and the many businesses and individuals who generously donated their time, products, and services. Every contribution, large and small, helped make the 2026 Golf Classic an outstanding day in support of our community.
